Quiet Places is an ongoing series of medium- and large-scale paintings that explores how art can create moments of stillness, reflection, and emotional connection within shared spaces. The project marks an evolution of my practice, expanding from highly detailed black ink drawings into vibrant mixed-media paintings using acrylic, ink, and Posca. Each work is inspired by a real place I have encountered during my travels—locations where I experienced a profound sense of refuge, peace, and quiet. Rather than depicting untouched wilderness, these landscapes bear subtle traces of human presence: a small sculpture assembled from natural materials, an abandoned car, a simple altar glowing in the evening light. Human figures are intentionally absent, allowing viewers to step into the scene themselves and form a personal connection with the landscape. The paintings portray calm, contemplative environments—from windswept coastlines to tranquil lakeshores—that invite viewers to slow down and reconnect with their own inner landscapes. Existing somewhere between solitude and belonging, these works aim to evoke memories, emotions, and a sense of sanctuary, offering space for quiet reflection in an increasingly fast-paced world.
